One of a kind Analyst Program by Java Capital

Java Capital’s OnRamp Analyst program is an immersive one year full-time program. Venture Capital industry in India is highly competitive and is difficult to break into. OnRamp is designed to provide the platform for participants to learn about venture investing and jump start their careers in Venture Capital.

  • This is a structured 12-month program divided into four quarters

  • The program is based in Bangalore, India

  • Ideal candidate has 2 years of work experience (No prior VC experience is required)

  • Includes a monthly stipend of INR 100,000
     

What will you do?

You will work closely with Java Capital's Partners on the following

  • Investment Thesis: Research reports on sectors, emerging technologies and business models

  • Sourcing: Identify and source pre-seed/seed stage companies for investment

  • Investment Memorandum: Prepare detailed and insightful investment memorandums

  • Portfolio Management: Assist Java Capital’s partners in working closely with portfolio founders

  • MIS: Prepare MIS for portfolio companies and maintain them on a monthly basis

  • Community Building: Conceptualize, organize and manage Java Capital’s portfolio meetups and annual summit

  • Content & Social Media: Work on Social Media and content across channels

  • You will be provided an opportunity to step up and take ownership and work on any relevant independent project that can add value to Java Capital.

  • 1) What is the program structure?
    OnRamp is a year long program with a tentative start date of July 1, 2022. The program is divided into four quarters. Each quarter focuses on a specific aspect of venture investing including but not limited to sourcing, evaluating investment opportunities, and preparing sectoral thesis
  • 2) How long is the program?
    OnRamp is a year long full time program.
  • 3) Is this a remote program?
    OnRamp is an at-location program in Bangalore, India. Under extenuating circumstances, candidates can opt for remote work for a period of time.
  • 4) Is there a stipend?
    Yes. As a participant of OnRamp program you will get a fixed monthly stipend of INR 100,000.
  • 5) Can I do other gigs alongside the OnRamp program?
    A typical workday in the OnRamp program is long. It is a demanding full time program. It requires the candidates to fully allocate their time and attention and there will be plenty of exciting work to be done.
  • 6) How many will join the OnRamp program?
    OnRamp cohort will have between 3 and 5 candidates with diverse backgrounds.
  • 7) What does the selection process look like?
    First, please finish the application here After reviewing applications, some candidates will be selected for the interview process. We will intimate you via email whether or not you were selected for the interview before June 3, 2022 Shortlisted candidates will be invited for in-person interview in Bangalore. Interview date will be notified in the email invitation. (Please note that if you are selected for the interview round, you will have to bear the expenses for your visit to Bangalore. Our team would be happy to guide you on where to stay in Bangalore.) Final selection of candidates will happen after the interviews and will be notified by June 15, 2022. The program tentatively commences on July 1, 2022.
  • 8) Does Java help with relocation to Bangalore?
    We will be glad to provide you information on where to stay in Bangalore so that you could commute to work easily. But you need to plan and bear the complete costs of your move.
  • 9) What should I expect post the program?
    OnRamp is designed to provide a launchpad for candidates to start a career in Indian startup ecosystem. We expect most of the candidates to continue their career either with other Venture Capital firms or join a startup including at Java Capital's portfolio companies or even startup on their own or pursue higher studies. However, OnRamp doesn't guarantee a job post the program. We expect the candidates to be independent in mapping their own careers. And, we will support the candidates by providing references with honest assessment of their contribution during the program.
  • 10) After completing OnRamp do candidates progress to work in Java Capital?
    OnRamp doesn't guarantee a future role at Java Capital. But, Java Capital may offer full time roles on a case by case basis and depending on the requirement at that point of time.
